Performance & Dispatch Training

Flight Operations | Applicability:  Airbus fleet

Airbus Aircraft Family: A300 A310 | A320 | A330 | A340 | A350 | A380

These courses are designed for airlines' aircraft Performance Engineers who need to reinforce their knowledge about Airbus aircraft performance (for instance tech pilots, flight operations officers, trading executives) in order to ensure the safety of the airline’s operations.

XG02 - Basic performance engineer course

Airbus Aircraft Applicability: A300 | A310 | A320 | A330 | A340 | A350 | A380

The course is designed for airlines’ aircraft Performance Engineers, who are in charge of the performance expertise and who need to know how to handle the performance software (PEP) provided by Airbus in order to make performance computations to produce documentation or to carry out specific studies; This courses, which is not an ab-initio course but a “transition” course, aims at brining to performance engineers the knowledge of aircraft systems and limitations, knowledge of the operational documentation, knowledge of the performance calculation techniques as well as the knowledge of general performance and regulation.

E-learning Aircraft Systems:

  • Theory and regulation
  • Performance engineering programs

XG09 - Advanced performance Engineer course

Airbus Aircraft Applicability: A310 | A320 | A330 | A340 | A350 | A380

The objective of the course is to propose to our customers an Airbus view on how to design procedures for specific operations (EOSID, Route study and ETOPS): Organized as a workshop, this course will mix stand-up lectures and practical examples using performance software, topographic and navigation maps.

Engine Out Standard instruments departure (EOSID):

  • To explain in which conditions the design of an EOSID can be of interest for takeoff
  • To highlight the multicity of such studies and the various cases that can be expected
  • To review the regulatory background and to present the Airbus analysis methods
  • To review the use of the necessary performance software to conduct such studies
  • To practice through several operational guided examples, using topographic maps, departure charts and performance

Route study

  • To highlight the problem caused by a pressurization or an engine failure while overflying a mountainous area
  • To present the different oxygen systems and their constraints
  • To review the regulatory background and to present the Airbus analysis methods
  • To review the use of the necessary performance software to conduct such studies
  • To practice through several operational guided examples, using topographic maps, departure charts and performance

ETOPS

  • To lay the stress on regulatory background and initial route study (FAR/JAR)
  • To highlight the problem of adequate airports, weather minima, icing contingencies
  • To detail fuel calculation methods and dispatch conditions

Note: Even if workshops essentially cover 2 engines aircraft, lectures also address 4 engines specificities.

XG05 - Getting to grips with aircraft performance course

Airbus Aircraft Applicability: A300 | A310 | A320 | A330 | A340 | A350 | A380

The course is designed for airline personnel who need to reinforce their knowledge about Airbus aircraft performance (for instance tech pilots, flight operations officers, trading executives).

The purpose of this module is to provide the trainees with information on theory and regulation for a better understanding of Airbus aircraft performance. This module is conducted with stand-up lectures and practical computerized exercises.

The topic covered are: Atmosphere, Temperature, Altimetry, Speeds, Take-off, Cruise, Landing, Flight Planning, and CAN/PCN: At the end of the course, the trainees participate to a test to check the knowledge acquired during the courses.

G03 - Dispatcher transition courses

Airbus Aircraft Applicability, table: A300 | A310 | A320 | A330 | A340

Airbus Aircraft Applicability, EFB: A320 | A330 | A340 | A350 | A380

The objectives of the dispatcher transition course are to provide to the airlines’ dispatchers all the necessary performance information that they could need in their daily work to ensure the safety of the airline’s operations.

This course aims at bringing to dispatchers the knowledge of the aircraft systems and limitations, the knowledge of the operational documentation, and the knowledge of the performance calculation techniques. This course also proposes specific training course for airlines operating in ETOPS conditions. This course is not an ab-initio course but a “transition to Airbus” course.
